2025 QAL: Block 4 - Dutchman’s Puzzle

We’re officially one-third of the way through the 2025 Quilt Along, and I’m so excited to share this month’s block with you: the Dutchman’s Puzzle! 🎉 This classic pinwheel-style block is built with flying geese units and offers just the right balance of tradition and movement — plus it looks so good in just about any fabric combo.
If you’ve been sewing along with us, this will be block 4 in our 12-month journey. So far, we’ve tackled:
January – Churn Dash
February – Friendship Star
March – Economy Block

🪶 This Month: Flying Geese — But with a Twist!
This month we’re making Flying Geese units, but instead of the traditional stitch-and-flip method, we’re stepping our skills up a notch and trying the 4-at-a-time method!
👉 This method is a little waste technique — not "no waste" (because let’s be honest, I still cut just a smidge bigger so I can square them up perfectly ✂️), but it’s a great way to build multiple geese at once and get super crisp results.
Don’t worry if you’ve never tried this method before — the tutorial breaks it all down in a friendly, beginner-friendly way. You’ve got this!
