Threads of September 2025

Hey There, Quilting Friends

Well, September came in hot…and brought in a new car for Jason and a dead computer for me. If that doesn’t scream “welcome to spooky season,” I don’t know what does! 😂

Let’s just say, not a lot of sewing progress happened between replacing Jason’s car and trying to keep everything else from falling apart. But even with the chaos, a few stitches managed to sneak in!

✂️ What Did Get Done

  • Americana Quilt Seeds by Lori Holt:Ian and I finished this quilt with a ton of songs, and he only fell a few times!

  • It Takes a Village: Y’all, the amount of hexies that have shown up in my mailbox is INSANE. I’m talking hexie heaven. I’ve been sorting, piecing, and occasionally questioning my life choices, but in the best way possible. Some of you clearly didn’t read the “send seven” memo… because bundles have been rolling in like it’s a hexie parade. I’m being a bit selective, but don’t worry, every single hexie will find a home! My mama, Nancy, even jumped in on the fun and is making her own scrappy quilt. I told her it’s like every one of you is sending her a warm hug, one hexie at a time. 💕

  • Tula’s Bloomers: Added another star, slowly but surely!

  • Porch Rails Quilt: Quilted and finished!

  • Longarm Quilting: Took on a customer quilt and really leaned into intentional quilting. I played with designs, mixed in pantographs, and even hand-drew a few elements. Every block became its own little masterpiece!

  • 16-Patch Quilt: Finished piecing and quilting this one. You can make your own by getting the pattern here: https://sewbecca.com/blog/16-patch-quilt

  • Studio Sessions: I was finally able to announce that I will be hosting Zoom workshops called “Studio Sessions”. You can find out all the details here: https://sewbecca.com/studio-sessions

🚗 Life Between the Stitches

Between car shopping, work travel, and battling the ghost of my computer, I’m calling September a “blur with thread attached.”

But October? October’s my month. I’m ready to slow down, sew more, and maybe even drink a pumpkin spice latte without a car emergency interrupting.

Here’s to a calmer, cozier, and more creative fall. 🍂

See you in the sewing room,

— Becca
