16 Patch Quilt Top
I was inspired by Kate over at The Last Homely House — she recently shared a video of a 16-patch quilt block that she and her daughter-in-law put together. It looked so fun and simple that I thought, “Hey, I’ve got some jelly rolls sitting around. Let’s do this!”
Since Kate mentioned she didn’t have a pattern to share, I decided to put together a quick project sheet for you. My version uses jelly rolls, but any 2.5" strips will work.
Why You’ll Love This Project
Beginner friendly — great for practicing ¼" seams.
Perfect stash buster — works with jelly rolls or scrap strips.
Flexible size — make it small, medium, or large depending on how many strips you have.
Quilt Sizes
Here’s what you’ll get depending on how many jelly rolls you start with:
1 Jelly Roll (40 blocks): 5 across x 8 down → 40" x 64"
2 Jelly Rolls (80 blocks): 8 across x 10 down → 64" x 80"
3 Jelly Rolls (120 blocks): 10 across x 12 down → 80" x 96"

The step-by-step instructions (with diagrams) are all in the free PDF I created for you.
