Threads of August 2025
Hey There, Quilting Friend!
Whew, what a month August has been! Can you believe summer is already slipping away and fall is sneaking in with its crispy mornings, pumpkins, and cozy vibes? Before we rush headfirst into everything September has in store, I thought I’d take a moment to look back at what August brought into the Sew Becca world (and my family life too!).
Zoey headed back to school this month, but not before she decided to try her hand at cosmetology. We took her to get a nice fresh haircut by a pro… but then she got a little adventurous with clippers at home. 😳 Let’s just say she won’t be opening a salon anytime soon. She’s basically rocking the buzzed look now, which means I’ll be making sure she’s stocked with plenty of warm hats for winter. (Don’t worry, she’s taking it all in stride and laughing about it too!)
In the Studio: What I Worked On
While Zoey was busy “discovering new career paths,” I was deep in the sewing room, and let me tell you, my creativity was on fire! Here’s what I got up to in August:
✨ Tula’s Bloomers — My Newest Obsession
One of the projects I started in August is Tula’s Bloomers ! I’m in love already. If you’ve been around here long, you know I can’t resist a good Tula Pink fabric moment, and this quilt is basically a dream come true.
The finished quilt measures 64" x 74", which is such a fun, snuggle-worthy size without being overwhelming.
What I love most is that it combines two of my favorite things:
🧵 EPP (English Paper Piecing) — perfect for slow stitching in the evenings or when life is busy (hello, fall schedule!).
🌸 Bold, vibrant Tula Pink fabrics — every piece feels like it has its own little personality, and they come together in the most joyful way.
I’ve just started putting my pieces together, and it’s already giving me that “this is going to be a forever favorite” kind of feeling. If you want to see the exact kit I’m using, you can check it out here: https://tidd.ly/41Eso0o
I also started and finished Porch Rails, a 3-yard quilt by Fabric Café
Basted all the pieces for my Violet Craft Lion EPP project
Made serious progress on my community hexies for the It Takes a Village Quilt
Want to join in? You can mail me 7 pre-basted 1" hexies (sewn together or loose). Just pop them in the mail to:
12849 Galveston Ct #401, Manassas, VA 20112 Don’t forget to write your name on the back, I want this quilt to reflect all the hands that stitched it! 💜

🍁What’s Coming in September
If August was busy, September is going to be jam-packed (in the best way!). Work is going to ramp up, so I’ll probably focus more on handwork & EPP than machine piecing. Here’s a peek at what’s ahead:
BOM Block 10 drops on September 13th
VIP & Channel Perks Zoom: September 28th
Virginia State Fair: Three of my quilts will be on display! (Pinch me!!)
Americana Sew-Along (Lori Holt’s Quilt Seeds – Americana): Live every Friday in September with Ian! Here are the patterns broken up by week if you plan to do it and still need to purchase them:

Week 2: https://tidd.ly/47rTifB
Week 3: https://tidd.ly/4nhd0iU

That’s the whirlwind wrap-up, my friend. August gave me some laughs (thank you, Zoey 😅), some gorgeous quilt finishes, and a whole lot of inspiration. September is lining up to be even better, and I can’t wait to share every stitch, snip, and story with you. Make sure you are liking my main page to stay up to date on everything!
