Sassy Starlet Project Sheet

Bringing a Little Quilt Joy to My Desk

Since I’m back in the office five days a week now, I’ve been looking for small ways to keep quilting in my day-to-day life—even if I’m not at the machine as often. My desk at work has low partitions, about 12 inches high, and it got me thinking… what if I turned that space into a mini quilt gallery?

That’s how Sassy Starlet was born! This is a fun, simple project that finishes at 12" x 12", making it perfect for office decor, a small wall hanging, or even a gift.

I don’t have a full-blown step-by-step pattern for this one—instead, I created a project sheet you can download for free. It includes a fabric list, cutting instructions, diagrams, and just enough guidance to walk you through it without overwhelming you. It’s all squares, half-square triangles, and a few flying geese—perfect for a weekend project or a satisfying sew when you only have an hour or two.

Want to see how it comes together in real time? I kicked it off in a livestream, so you can follow along from the very first cut. I hope you’ll give it a try—and maybe even start your own mini quilt wall!
